Tower blocks in Tyresö

On a north-facing slope in Tyresö two pairs of linked tower blocks follow you up a steep road. The slate covered solitaries rise from the ground with monolithic shapes that references to the permanent heavy mountain they rest on. The rotation and height of the monoliths has been given particular care in order to preserve sight lines and the surrounding variation of buildings, streets and parks. With their straight roofs and minimal eaves they frame the human scale towards the street and make them a gravitational centre point in the varied city silhouette of Tyresö.
The tower blocks all have a central staircase with apartment types ranging from one-room apartments to four-room apartments. The building is sustainably classed as Gold.
